### Description
Currently, dialogue boxes are pre-formatted and cannot be customised to user requirements.
Without my glasses I’m unable to follow the traffic in the Silence display; even with glasses the messages are tough to read due to the fixed font, its size etc.
Requesting to enhance the customisation features by allowing different font types, sizes, and colours for incoming and outgoing messages separately. If this is possible I’d also appreciate if selectable background colours for messages are implemented.

### Bug description
Trying to send a gif somewhere a bit above 258KB says it's too big. For example, I have a 282KB gif that won't send.
Firstly, pretty sure t-mobile, and most carriers are 1mB mms limit.
Secondly, other messaging apps send it no problem, so I don't think the problem is on my end.
### How to reproduce
- Attempt to send gif >=282KB in size
- Cry
**Actual result:
Attachment exceeds size limits
**Expected result:
It happily adds the gif and sends like stock Samsung messenger or chompsms

I apologize if this has already been addressed here, but I did a preliminary search to see if others had reported a similar bug and hadn't found anything.
When swiping SMSSecure away from the Recent Apps list, the list disappears/closes out and I'm brought to the home screen.
If I then reopen the Recent Apps list again, I can see that SMSSecure was successfully discarded and other apps in the list are left alone.
This occurs on my previous phone (Samsung Galaxy S4 - Verizon, Android 5.0.1), current phone (Nexus 6P - Google Fi, Android 6.0.1), as well as my friend's phone (Neuxs 5 - T-Mobile, Android 6.0.1) and has done so for about six months, since we first started using SMSSecure.
I've tried enabling/disabling the "Screen Security" feature under Settings > Privacy to no avail.
Is this a known bug and are there any plans to fix it?
Thanks!

Key exchange does not prevent from a man-in-the-middle attack.
1/ There is no way to check that the key associated to the contact on the user application is the same than the contact one.
The application allow to print our own key fingerprint but not the contacts' one.
2/ There is no way to flag a contact as "authenticated", after a manual verification.
The aim of SMSSecure is to protect the user's privacy against the network operator. But it could implement an automated MITM exploit and make SMSSecure totally useless. Today there is no way to check if this has already occurred on your device because fingerprints can't be checked.

Now that we can personalize the conversations, there could be an option, in the conversation menu, to chose the color of the led for the contact.
There could also be an option to set a custom vibration for each contact, but I think this would be more difficult to add.

A growing number of apps allow you to change the app's proxy settings so that they only work when connected to the Tor network. It'd be great is SMSSecure implimented this proxy feature so people could use it with Orbot. It seems as though there is no interest in fixing this problem upstream at TextSecure, so I thought I'd suggest it here.
https://github.com/WhisperSystems/TextSecure/issues/1697
https://github.com/WhisperSystems/TextSecure/issues/1187
On a related note, and this might be Orbot's fault, but currently MMS messages don't work in SMSSecure when Orbot is on. Is this something you can fix? Are there other apps that I need to make sure aren't being routed through Orbot/Tor in order to get MMS messages to work? I've already tried unchecking SMSSecure and other text related apps in Orbot to try to get this to work.

This is the second improvement that'll make SMSSecure awesome for me:
While it is actually possible to see all the pictures of the discussion, it is not possible to switch from a picture to another with a simple touch movement like in the galleries application. (I'm not sure this is well explained...)

Hello,
I was using Hangout to handle my SMS, I have many years of history.
I installed SMSSecure 0.8.1 from Google Play and imported the SMS database.
Then I noticed I lost every MMS I previously had. The MMS are still in the Hangout database but not in the SMSSecure database.
I am able to send and receive MMS with SMSSecure, but no MSM were imported when I imported the SMS database.
THank you for your help.

If someone tries to call and you don't want to accept that call, you can choose the option to send him/her a SMS with a predefined text (e.g. "I will call back later"). This message used to appear in the normal SMS app as being sent. It would be a nice feature, if this message also gets shown in SMSSecure.
(The described feature is at least available in Cyanogenmod.)

Hello. Something I've noticed with TextSecure and now with SMSSecure (Awesome fork by the way) is that for some reason failed messages are never ever sent again. Instead it just fails, forcing you to manually send it again. Lame!
I therefore suggest that messages should be automatically re-sent until they are actually sent properly. You know, like every other SMS app?
Here's how to reproduce the problem:
1. Go to an area with crap reception, like an underground supermarket.
2. Try to send someone a message. It will fail.
3. SMSSecure will give you a message telling you that it failed.
Here's what should happen:
1. You enter the shabby underground supermarket.
2. You send a message to your lovely girlfriend/boyfriend/cat. It fails to be sent.
3. SMSSecure automatically sends the message when the opportunity arrives. Preferably when you step outside of the shabby underground supermarket.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Turns out it's not automatically failing while in airplane mode.

Instead of making both users take turns reading out values or alternating between scanning and generating bar codes, wouldn't just putting the phones together be simpler?
Initial thoughts:
- Responding to an NFC tag would only be enabled on the "Verify identity" screen
- Optimally the phones would automatically send their identity and confirm the identities sent to them match.
- Depending on the Android API's for this, users may have to take turns tapping to send their id.
