Combine Silence with Signal

Hi,

Was there an attempt to bring the protocol that is in silence back into a fork of the newest Signal App? That way the more polished UI could be used from Signal and using "Silence+Signal" for encryption SMS or via Internet (just like Signal never abondonded it). If someone has tried, please tell me, I am interested otherwise to bring it back, don't know where to start, any help appreciated. This would also make Silence give a new community. People are using Signal and if they just have to switch to "whatever_this_fork_is_named" and can continue with Signal and even use encrypted SMS when being offline, would be great.
